40 Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training
The State of California requires a 40-hour training certification course for all Domestic Violence Advocates. To be certified, attendance is required at all. The goal of this training it to educate future advocates on the history of domestic violence and strategies to help survivors of abusive relationships. This workshop will include lectures, presentations, participant experiences, questions and answer periods. Participants will successfully complete the mandated initial 40 hour basic training as required in 1203.098 of the California Penal Code
This training is held once a quarter throughout the year. This class does require a fee.
Teen Violence Prevention 1 on 1: 12 Weeks Escape this pageTimes: Call to setup appointment
The advocate will focus on educating youth on how to effectively build healthy relationships with their peers, parents, and family.
Domestic Violence Support Group: 20 WeeksTuesdays (Spanish) 10:00am-12:00pm, Wednesdays 10:00am-12:00pm, Fridays 10:00am-12:00pm
This group will focus on educating and empowering victims to make positive change within their homes.
Options to Change Lives: 20 WeeksWednesday 6:00pm-8:00pm
This group will focus on helping perpetrators change their behaviors
Parenting: 9 WeeksMondays 8:00am-10:00am
This group will focus on enhancing parenting capacity and strengthening Parent-Child bonds.
Sexual Assault Support 1 on 1: 8 WeeksTimes: Call to setup appointment
The advocate will focus on understanding and support to victims of sexual assault.
